The Mounted Shooter Saddle is made the traditional, time honored way using a rawhide covered wood tree and leather ground work over a tin strainer. This saddle brings together a great combination of qualities needed in today's mounted shooting competition: Durability–constructed with select 13-15oz. leather over a Steele Saddle Tree, LLC tree, with stainless steel hardware. Built to last and handle the demands of the competition circuit. Style–Sam Stagg rigging with leather covered stainless steel dees. A unique combination of period styling and today's comfort allow us to offer you a saddle with the authentic look you're after and yet have the feel of a competition saddle.ed at the blevins buckle and the top of the fender. Stirrups: Wooden metal bound natural rawhide covered, hand laced bell stirrups with 3" treads. Rigging: Dropped plate rigging in 7/8's position. Hardware is Stainless Steel Horseshoe Brand with black inlay floral work. Leather: 13-15 oz. Golden, Mahogany, or Walnut Skirting. Trim: Slotted Horseshoe Brand Conchos with black accents; all Hardware including the saddle screws and washers is stainless steel. Saddle strings cut from premium 5-7 oz. burgandy latigo. The bicycle padded seat is constructed with 3/8" close cell foam covered with 4-5 oz. chap leather. We use the Union Lockstitch to sew and pull the 277 white nylon thread tight at 5 1/2 stitches to the inch. Finish: Each B-Light Ranch & Trail Saddle first receives a warm coat of 100% pure neatsfoot oil followed by a generous coat of Aussie Leather Conditioner. Edges are burnished by hand rubbing.
